Does your child need extra reading support?

Are you looking for ways to support your
child with home reading?

Reading Pals provides FREE support for children entering grades 1-5,
who are experiencing reading and/or writing difficulties.
The purpose of Reading Pals is to provide free, direct help with reading
in a FUN and non-threatening environment.

Due to COVID-19, the Reading Pals Program is not running in
our regular capacity with volunteers for Winter 2021.

Join us this winter for a supported online Reading Pals session to improve your child’s reading skills from home. This program is open to students in Grades 1-5. Teacher referrals are NOT required for these sessions, but are appreciated to provide us with more information to support students. Registration and referrals are also available online this year!

This winter’s program has been adapted to be accessible in a passive online format in a three week session. The intent is for families to work through the program at their own pace throughout the three weeks. A dedicated program coordinator will be available throughout the sessions via email, and individual consultations via video call will be available upon request. This program looks different from previous years, but we are hoping to still reach families that are needing the extra support at home.

What will be provided:
– Individualized book bundle of library materials for your child (available for pick up at any of the 3 branches during the first week of the registered session)
– Printed activity sheets
– Weekly digital newsletters with activities, games, strategies
– Individual consultation available via request from our program coordinator to assist parents with support and strategies

Winter Sessions:

*All 2021 sessions are now full*

Interested families can sign up for 3 weeks worth of e-newsletters filled with activities, resources and strategies.
